Design: Luxury Streetwear Storefront
Deconstructed Concrete Model
In Spring of 2022 the Duggal Innovation Lab teamed up with AMIRI to transform the storefronts for their Miami, Las Vegas and Beverly Hills locations. We were presented with the concept of deconstructed concrete pillars tagged with graffiti that emphasized their streetwear brand identity. I was brought on board to lead the technical design for each of the twelve concrete pillars that would become the centerpiece of the spring storefronts. In creating the deconstructed forms we worked with our fabrication team to sculpt each of these unique pieces from structural foam that were coated with a hard shell and concrete wash finish. While the the pieces appeared to have substantial weight the lightness of the foam allowed us to install them without the burden of heavy structural loads. My design process began with hand sketches that I converted into vector files and transformed into detailed 3D models.
